A Peek into Pro Skateboarding

One of the most popular activities of youth nowadays, skateboarding, has taken off to an all new level. It has transformed from a simple pastime to an adrenaline pumping extreme sport having its own circuit of tournaments even televised on national TV.

To date, there are over 12 million skateboarders scattered across the globe. Most of these skateboarding enthusiasts are actually aged 18 years and below. A good number of these skateboarders do it as a hobby and some use their boards as a mode of transportation.

There are a select few of these skateboarders who make it to the big leagues. They enter the professional skateboarding circuit and they actually earn tons of cash. This is mainly due to the ever growing industry of skateboarding and the serious money a pro skateboarder can make from endorsements and other promotional events.

The skateboarding industry has in fact reached the multi-billion dollar mark and with the continuing outpouring of interest from the younger generation, a lot more money is expected to be poured into the sport.

Being a pro skateboarder, one is guaranteed to rake in the big bucks. Talented skateboarders haul in more money than what you think. It all depends on how far one would go with his skateboarding skills and extreme skateboarding abilities.

Skateboarders usually get recognized through joining competitions and big named tournaments. The likes of skateboarding greats Reese Forbes, Ron Bertino and Kareem Campbell all started out joining these skateboarding competitions.

Winning skateboarding tournaments can bring you a big time pay out but it does not stop there. When commercial organizations recognize you for your talents this is when the big bucks start pouring in! Endorsement deals for famous skateboarding products will blow your mind away with their hefty talent fees for their skateboarding stable. Endorsement deals easily reach six-figure contracts! Now that is surely a wind fall considering your only major investment is your skateboard and some occasional bandages for those nasty spills and falls.

Imagine the path of the skateboarder's professional career starting in one insignificant back alley. Here new tricks are perfected and mind numbing stunts are tried out for the first and the nth times. This will all be the building blocks for the upcoming major tournament which will be the ticket to a skateboard enthusiast's promising career.

Some greenhorns are lucky to have initial endorsers willing to sponsor all the necessary gear and equipment. It is somewhat a gamble on these multi brand companies since if they do pick out a winner in the rookies, he will be snowballing into a huge crowd favorite in no time! This would catch the attention of fans even more as they will be monitoring every single step that their new superstar will make. And yes, this will include the endorsement deals and contracts that he will be accepting as a pro skateboarder.
